PictureWaiting to board at Seoul, Korea
Greeting from Silverton, Oregon. I’ve been here now for almost a week and I thought it would be good to write something back home.

I enjoyed a smooth journey here last week, even though I had to wait 12 hours in Seoul, Korea. But a big thanks to Viber App ( greater thanks to Libby for telling me about this App. She has always been so great to me) that enabled me to call and text to some friends back home as well as in the States so that I didn’t feel bored.

I felt a bit nervous as I came through the US customs especially when I saw people in front me got asked hard questions by unhappy officers. Those officers are the ones who make final decision on my length of stay in the States so I had to get everything right with them. Praise God everything was good and at the end they gave me six month visa, which was really awesome. But I will not be staying in US for six month, I will go back home somewhere in January.

I am doing very well up here and I don’t have problems with jet leg ( just a bit confused with time as it is 14 hours behind our time in Cambodia) I am now living with a family: Gerry & Grethel. They are really really great people and they look after me really well. Grethel is such a good cook. I spend most of my time with Gerry at the moment and he is so good to help me understand things here. And I help him a bit with some stuffs in the house like cutting grass, cleaning the window…etc. Actually, I am not really useful to him as everything is done by machine and I have no idea how to use them.

I was warmly welcomed by the church on Sunday. They had their meeting outside the church building. Everyone is so friendly. Gerry introduced me to the church. I find it hard trying to remember people's name. I will be more involved with the church this week and I pray that I will be able to serve and learn from them.
